Sand blasting services Ashburton

Powerful surface preparation, on site or in shop

At Ashburton Powder Coating, we offer expert sand blasting as part of our full-service metal finishing. With a purpose-built indoor booth over 8 metres long, we can tackle everything from small parts to large industrial components, whether it's removing corrosion from classic car parts or preparing massive silos on-site, our experienced team has the tools and knowledge to get the job done right.

What is sandblasting?

Sandblasting is the process of forcefully projecting abrasive media, typically garnet, onto a surface using compressed air. Travelling at speeds of up to 400 km/h, the media strips away rust, paint, coatings, and other contaminants to reveal a clean, ready-to-finish surface.

This makes it an ideal pre-treatment for:

  • Powder coating

  • Painting

  • Galvanising

  • Structural repairs or refurbishment

We primarily use garnet, a fast-cutting, recyclable, and environmentally friendly abrasive. Garnet offers superior cleaning while being safe on delicate metals and complex shapes.

Our operators are trained to adjust blast settings based on material type, thickness and surface condition - ensuring quality results, every time.

What can be sand blasted?

Almost anything! From tiny nuts and bolts to full truck chassis, if it needs to be stripped, prepped or cleaned, we can sandblast it.

We regularly work on:
